Can TradingView Auto-Trade on Tradovate? Yes — Here Are the 2 Ways
Heads up: some links below are affiliate links. If you sign up through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — it never changes what we recommend.
Yes — but not directly. TradingView creates the signal; a bridge turns that signal into a real Tradovate order. You have two reliable options: (1) a webhook bridge like TradersPost that you set up yourself, or (2) the LPFT Copilot, a done-for-you app that runs tested, rules-based strategies on your Tradovate account automatically. Choose the bridge if you already have your own strategy; choose the Copilot if you want the strategy and the automation handled for you.
Why TradingView can't place the trade on Tradovate by itself
It's the question almost everyone asks first, and the honest answer clears up a lot of confusion: TradingView is a charting and alerting platform. It is superb at spotting the moment your strategy triggers and firing an alert — but an alert is just a message. TradingView is not a broker, holds no account, and has no path to send an order to Tradovate on its own.
The missing piece is a bridge: a service that sits between TradingView and your broker, listens for the alert, and submits the matching order through Tradovate's API the instant it arrives. Get that one piece in place and “auto-trading from a chart” stops being a mystery.
The two ways that actually work
There are really only two routes worth your time in 2026. One puts you in the driver's seat; the other hands you the keys to a car that's already running. Here's how they stack up.
| Option A — TradersPost bridge | Option B — LPFT Copilot | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | TradingView fires a webhook → TradersPost receives it → it routes the order to your Tradovate account. | A desktop app runs LPFT's in-house strategies and places the trades on your Tradovate account for you. |
| What you supply | Your own strategy and alert messages. | Nothing — the strategy is built in. |
| Setup effort | Moderate — you configure the alert, webhook and broker link. | Low — download, activate, connect Tradovate. |
| Ongoing cost | A monthly TradersPost plan (varies by tier). | One LPFT subscription — strategy, automation and guarantee included. |
| Best for | DIY traders who already have a strategy they trust. | People who want results without building or babysitting anything. |
| Prop-firm accounts | Where the firm supports Tradovate (see note below). | Supported via Tradovate (see the note below). |
Option A — build your own bridge with TradersPost
If you already have a TradingView strategy you believe in, TradersPost is the cleanest way to make it trade itself. You create an alert on your strategy, paste in the TradersPost webhook URL, connect your Tradovate account once, and from then on every signal becomes a live order. You keep full control — which also means the strategy's quality and your risk settings are still your job.
One thing to sort first: TradingView only sends webhook alerts on a paid plan (Essential or above, not the free Basic tier) and only when two-factor authentication is switched on. Handle that once and the rest is quick.
TradersPost bridges TradingView to Tradovate. Setup takes an afternoon.
Try TradersPost →Option B — skip the build with the LPFT Copilot
Most people don't actually want to build a bridge — they want the outcome. The LPFT Copilot is a small app that already contains our tested strategies. You download it, activate your license, and connect your Tradovate account (directly, or through TradersPost if you prefer). From there it trades the LPFT method on schedule, with the risk rules and session windows already baked in. No Pine Script, no webhook wrangling, no chart-watching.
We only support prop-firm connections that run through Tradovate. You're free to point our tools at a prop firm's own API key at your own discretion — but if you ever file a guarantee claim, you'll need to provide your full broker statement where applicable. Not every prop firm supports the Tradovate API, so check yours first. More on this in our prop-firm automation guide.
So which one should you pick?
- You have a strategy and like tinkering → Option A. Bring your edge, let TradersPost pull the trigger.
- You want a tested system and your time back → Option B. The Copilot is the whole thing in a box.
- Not sure your strategy holds up? Backtest and demo it first — automation makes a good strategy effortless and a bad one expensive.
Three mistakes that trip people up
- The alert never fires. Nine times out of ten it's an expired alert or the webhook box left unchecked — re-create the alert and confirm the URL.
- Wrong contract or size. The order routes exactly as written; a typo in the symbol or quantity trades the wrong thing. Test with one micro contract first.
- No safety net. Set a daily loss limit inside Tradovate's risk settings before you go live. Automation follows rules — give it a hard floor.

No. TradingView is a charting and alerting platform, not a broker. It can fire an alert — a message — the instant your strategy triggers, but it has no way to route an order to Tradovate. A bridge between the alert and your broker is what actually places the trade.
No. Both routes on this page are no-code. With a webhook bridge you paste a URL into a TradingView alert; with the LPFT Copilot you download an app, activate it, and connect your Tradovate account — no scripting involved.
It depends on the firm, and the rules change, so always check your firm's current policy. LPFT only supports prop-firm connections that run through Tradovate. You can point our tools at a prop firm's own API key at your own discretion, but a guarantee claim requires your full broker statement where applicable.
Once the bridge receives the alert it submits the order to Tradovate immediately; fill speed then depends on the market and your order type, exactly as it would for a manual order.
Automation removes emotion, but it does not remove risk. Futures carry a substantial risk of loss. Set a daily loss limit in Tradovate's risk settings, test in a demo first, and never automate more size than you'd trade by hand.
